It is nice when you can come together as a group meeting other men in the church in a more personal way.
The Men's Group meets twice a year 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on the third Saturday of February and October in Founders' Hall at DPC.
Pastor Paul Casner leads the group with a time of sharing, devotion, and prayer. It is a great way for men of all ages to talk about the challenges that they have faced and to encourage each other through sharing stories and seeking the Unity in the Body of Christ [Ephesians 4:2-3]
Where else can you go in a trusting environment for 1 1/2 hours and find peace?
Men of DPC have the opportunity to unite and share Christ's love by pooling their resources and sponsoring two to three service projects each year for others in need in our congregation or community.
The Men's Fellowship is for men who have a passion for hands-on work where they apply their knowledge and talents collectively in a practical way to help someone or a family facing challenges.
Requests for assistance are processed through Rev. Amy Dodson-Watts, Director of Pastoral Care (883-3248, ext. 14). Amy contacts a representative of the Fellowship explaining the project. Representatives of the Fellowship visit the site and discuss the needs of a person or family. The Fellowship identifies an expert as a resource to a project to ensure that a quality job can be accomplished. The Fellowship may elect to decline a project if it is beyond their means. The Fellowship forms a group based on interests and talents which may include the Presbyterian Women of DPC as a co-sponsor and coordinates with a person or family to schedule the event. The Fellowship brings volunteers to the project donating their time, talents, tools and equipment.
